One Year!

It’s been a year since last year, and we have all survived. Smile If You Dare is one year old.

Gretna Green, Scotland. Gretna Green was the first village located in Scotland on the old coach route between London and Edinburgh. Due to Lord Hardwicke’s Marriage Act of 1754, marriage before the age of 21 was only permitted with parental consent in England and Wales, so young couples began to elope ‘over the border’ to Gretna Green in Scotland, where marriage was legal at 16 years of age. This is where the innkeeper John Linton managed the “Marriage Shop.”
