Worthy Causes
There are seemingly endless ways to donate funds to worthy causes, both domestic and international. Choose at least one that feels best for you.
Since there are so many organizations, it is impossible to list them all or even a large selection of them.
Here are two domestic organizations that are making a large impact in people’s lives that you may not have heard about:
Remote Area Medical (RAM) is a major nonprofit provider of mobile medical clinics by providing free, quality healthcare to those in need. They deliver free dental, vision, and medical services to under-served and uninsured individuals. RAM’s Corps of more than 120,000 Humanitarian Volunteers–licensed dental, vision, medical, and veterinary professionals–have treated more than 740,000 people and 67,000 animals, delivering $120 million worth of free health care services. Remote Area Medical is a 501(c)(3) charity. Volunteers are always needed. Volunteers include the general public to help organize events as well as medical professionals.
RIP Medical Debt is a 501(c)(3) charity that locates, buys and forgives medical debt. So many people are one medical illness or accident away from bankruptcy. RIP Medical Debt is doing a good thing. And 2018 staff salaries are separately funded by benefactors.
