Some of the most important things to know in life. We know these by just being alive.
We hold these truths to be self-evident:
1. All Politics is Manipulation.
Seems self-evident to me.
If politicians told the truth, here is what they would need to say:
“Vote for me because I tell you I will get you what you want, but really I’ll do things that benefit the people who give me money. I will tell you that my goal is to help you, but my real goal is to distract you from paying attention to the things I am doing.”

2. All Media is Propaganda.
This includes Television and Social Media. This includes not just advertising, but the content of programming as well.
Rather than debate what is going on, one should think about the Why. “Why does this program exist? Why do they want to show it to me?” Investigations into the Why of things yields better clarity than most other endeavors.
The mere existence of some things just exacerbates inter-personal contention. Just think of the inevitable comparisons that occur when people fawn over those who are richer, more famous, or more notorious than themselves. Just add rumor, political untruths, and downright lies to this mix, and viola, a population which cannot tell reality from fiction. When all of this is disseminated via instant communication mechanisms, few take the time to stop and see things are they are.
3. Never go to bed with someone crazier than oneself.
Good advice never goes out of style! However, if this one is taken fully, no one would ever hook up with anyone because at least one would always be “crazier” than the other.
4. Never start a plumbing project on a Sunday night.
This one saves my sanity. Only start projects of this kind when stores are open!

Sirin is a mythological creature of Russian legends, with the head and chest of a beautiful woman and the body of a bird (usually an owl). According to myth, the Sirins lived in Vyraj or around the Euphrates River. A so-called Lubok print from 1881 is from the collection of Dmitriĭ Aleksandrovich Rovinskiĭ (1824-1895).
