Send Me A Postcard From Your Prison Cell in El Salvador

Can You Forget The Country You Came From?
Now it seems that U.S. citizens will be subjected to being deported with no due process, and you don’t even get the opportunity to choose where to go.

And your chances of returning to the U.S.? Nil it seems.

Of course, cells in El Salvador prisons are not single occupancy. You’ll be sharing the cell with many others. So don’t bother sending me a post card. I’ll be in the next cell with all the deported judges Trump disagrees with.

Where This All Comes From
“Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitler’s collected speeches, My New Order, which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed.”

Law? What Law?
It seems that Trump ignores the laws he doesn’t like, but relies on laws he likes.  Add to that his ignoring court orders, and we as a country are in steep decline. He is even ignoring court orders from the Supreme Court.

I surmise he wants to rule by decree.  The rule of law has been eliminated. It feels like we are living in Germany on January 30, 1933 or Poland in August 31, 1939.  (If you don’t know the significance of those dates, look it up.)

Europeans Being Smart
“The European Commission is issuing burner phones to officials traveling to the United States amid fears of espionage in Trump’s America.”

Is the U.S. Home To Anything Anymore?
Well, now that Civil Liberties have been abolished by Trump and his collaborators, what is left? Are we going to at least get some bread and circuses? Likely not.

I mourn the loss of the United States that used to stand as a beacon of freedom, that millions braved incredible hardships to come to in the last two and a half centuries. Those days of freedom are over, it seems. Those days are gone. I am not smiling.

Can we ever regain the rule of law?

Your take on this madness? Let me know here.
