Most of the time, we think of money as the cause, or at least, the exacerbator of discomfort, stress, and worry. But I am here to tell you that having dividend income is a great stress reducer!
Once I began to receive dividend income, and see it increase year after year, I realized that that income was allowing me to understand that as my income increased, my need to stress about it declined. Worry about money became mostly optional.
Of course, I could always turn on the worry machine so to speak, but it became a choice, something perhaps like temporarily joining a soap opera. For me, financial worry declined at the same rate as the increase of income from dividends. It looks something like this:
Increased dividends = Less stress
Less dividends = More stress
Knowing that the dividends I receive are mine, and no one can take them away has meant that I know that I have my version of some financial security. As mentioned Get The Biggest Companies In America To Pay You, here are all the things you do not need:

You do not need to swear to anything, to pledge anything, or admit anything. You do not need to pledge some future payment. You do not need to meet with anyone. No one will visit you, no salespeople will call, no one will bother you.”
And here are many of the things that will happen:
Your dividend income will increase automatically. Your dividend income will increase your autonomy from the working world. Your dividend income will begin to provide you with financial security. Your dividend income will start to reduce worry and stress. Your dividend income will increase your enjoyment of the world in general. You will not be beholden to any job, any boss, any layoffs, any downsizing, any “right sizing”, and any of the many other gotchas of employment. Your dividend income will be yours, and yours alone (just make for allowances for taxes). Your dividend income will allow you independence of thought and independence of action. Your dividend income will give you choices and opportunities that you did not have before.
