Government by Vindictiveness

Sadly, it’s already here.

Misery reigns when vindictiveness becomes the government’s primary focus.

What is Government by Vindictiveness?
If some entity or person does not agree with some leader’s views, the leader marshals the government’s power to harm that entity or person. Such pathetic and debasing behavior by these government leaders denigrates and demeans the entire nation. But somehow, these leaders think they can get away with it.

Witness
Usually we associate crudeness and vindictiveness with autocrats in foreign countries. Dictators crushing all dissent, all critical thinking, all ideas outside of their own. The wheels of state brought to bear on populations. Outright cruelty becomes the order of the day.

However, it has come home to us here in America. It was always this way in some areas of the country, in regards to those considered by the powerful to be less than desirable members of the public. Unfortunately, the distaste that causes such behavior has spread now throughout the country. And it seems only to be getting worse.

“There is perhaps no surer way of infecting ourselves with virulent hatred toward a person than by doing him a grave injustice.”
― Eric Hoffer, The True Believer: Thoughts on the Nature of Mass Movements

Who cannot forget “Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee.”

That Trump frequently threatens people who do not agree with his policies is common knowledge. There are many examples of this. The current wave of anti-trans legislation in Republican-lead states is clear how hatred and demonizing has turned into government policy.

A proposed law in Florida would prohibit girls from talking about their periods.  Why are Republicans fighting everything?

Voter suppression, gerrymandering, blocking gun control legislation… it makes you wonder why Republicans are so hostile for Americans to improve their lives.

“The quality of ideas seems to play a minor role in mass movement leadership. What counts is the arrogant gesture, the complete disregard of the opinion of others, the singlehanded defiance of the world.”
― Eric Hoffer, The True Believer: Thoughts on the Nature of Mass Movements

Inspectors general, whose job it is to eliminate fraud, corruption and abuse were fired by Trump. As a result, his actions are enabling fraud, corruption and abuse.

A once in a lifetime financial investment opportunity: invest in Louisiana funeral homes  because Louisiana Health Department Says It Will Stop Promoting Mass Vaccinations. Business is sure to pick up next winter.

Fed up enough yet? Let me know here.
