Believe it or not, there will be many consequences.
Here are just a few that come to mind. Without a doubt, there will be more.
*. Ambiguity and uncertainty. As mentioned previously, uncertainty is worse than volatility.
Ending birthright citizenship would create an enormous underclass in the U.S. Since they would not have the rights and obligations of citizens, and ostensibly no path to recognition, there would be no incentive for them to participate rationally in society.

* Concentration Camps
Euphemistically known as Detention Centers, the rounding up and housing the undocumented creates concentration camps in uncomfortable surroundings. Acknowledge “Alligator Alcatraz.” Since those born to undocumented will be denied citizenship, these persons will not be eligible to be deported to their “home countries” because the USA is their home country. Perhaps they will be deported to permanent incarceration in third world countries based on U.S. funding.
*. Loss of education and opportunities
Imagine hundreds or thousands of people prevented from attending schools, so do not have the opportunity to be educated and missed the indoctrination that primary education provides. They would be unable to compete in any job market, and will be relegated to lowest of skills jobs, if any.
* Unbridled Exploitation and criminal behavior
Regardless of laws, some employers will be tempted to hire undocumented workers. It will now be more underground and harder to monitor and police. This will give rise to some organizations attempting to hide immigrants.
The problem of identifying the undocumented will skyrocket. Undoubtedly, the mandate will come that all legal residents and citizens must carry valid identification at all times. Soon we will hear that horrifying shout: “Your papers please!”
* Inevitable rise of counterfeit documents and identity theft, new forms of cybercrime
Hacking of databases will move from cybercrime and ransoms, to obfuscating legitimate government data. Until now, hacking often was political (foreign governments stealing secrets) or criminal (vandalism, demanding ransom). A new branch of hacking will emerge in which adding persons to government databases in order to “legitimize” someone previously considered an illegal immigrant.
* More health problems: epidemics and pandemics.
If the undocumented are cut off from standard health care, then whole classes of persons will more easily spread disease and health problems.
* Substantial increase in food costs.
Many undocumented previously worked in low wage agricultural jobs. As deportations and roundups increase, there will be fewer persons available to plant and harvest, increasing food shortages as well as costs.
